Matt Hansen, of the Inland Waterways Rejuvenation Association said, ‘We decided a few months ago that more needed to be done to focus attention on issues like illegal fishing and dumping, which are spoiling the river for everyone. The Window on the Wetlands Centre is well on the way to becoming a tourist destination in Warren. Stage 2, the relocation of the old church hall from the nearby Catholic Primary school was recently completed. The church now sits beside the Tiger Bay wetland, to be re-born into a place to showcase the wonders of wetlands, while also promoting Macquarie River Trails and helping ‘incubate’ new business enterprises under that initiative.
